Review by guest writer and StashMyComics.com user Michael Meador

“The multi-verse is a near infinite set of universes, each only marginally different from the next and only widely different when separated by millions of variants.”

This is the quote that most stands out in my mind when thinking about this issue of Elric: The Balance Lost. When asked to do this review I had never had the chance to experience the artistic joy that is Chris Roberson’s Elric series but after going back and reading the first seven I found myself pumped to read the eighth in the series and I was not disappointed.

The character interaction in this series borders on the near-perfect as is the character design and development. The ease at which Roberson transitions the reader between not only different characters but completely different worlds is a testament to how talented a writer he is. The art, while not to my exact liking, is very detailed and reminds me of the older dragonlance comics. While this issue may be the ending of the first arc in this series it feels as if you have barely scratched the surface of what stories could be told with these
amazing characters and surreal worlds.

See this fantastic series come to a head as Elric and Hawkmoon finally reach the city of Tanelorn just to see it under siege from the very agents of chaos they have had to fight every step of their journey. Also as the forces of Chaos and Law converge we finally get to see the appearance of Corum and Eric Beck in the same universe as Elric and Hawkmoon which will leave you wondering if we finally get to see the showdown? Pick up this fantastic series from Writer Chris Roberson and artist Francesco Biagini based on the popular stories of fantasy author Michael Moorcock from your local comic shop on 2/8/12.
