Marvel Comics – July 2009 – $3.99 – 40 pgs – Color

Writer: Ed Brubaker – Artist: Luke Ross – Cover: Steve Epting

Synopsis:  It’s Bucky’s birthday, and he’s spending it escaping death and kicking bad guy butt.  The issue is basically a look at birthdays of Bucky’s past that include times with the Invaders, WWII, and even the first time he was called into “special” training.

Review:  Honestly, not much to say about this issue.  It was “pretty,” but story wise accomplished little.  I enjoyed the artwork, and the WWII  scenes, but was disappointed after having to fork over $4.00 for what is basically a flashback issue.  Guess you could say it is a good jump on point for new readers, and most likely a lead in to the 600th issue celebration for next month.  I honestly bought the issue because the cover art is Sweet!

Story: 6 – Writing: 8.5 – Art: 9 – Cover: 9.5

Overall: 8.25
