Welcome all you comic fans to another edition of Fan Film Friday! This week, we’re going to take a look at a web series created for Nightwing! Strap in and get that popcron ready, ’cause we’re going to check out Nightwing: Escalation!
We all know who Nightwing is, right? He was the first Robin, and after a stint, sort of falling out with Batman, left to go on his own as Nightwing. Nightwing has since gone on to form a reputation all his own as a substantial crime-fighter and detective in his own right, and has also developed a very loyal fan-base.
Here’s the synopsis of the first episode of this web series, taken right from it’s listing on openfilm.com : A mysterious serial killer is rampaging through Gotham City. With an impending leave of absence forcing his hand, Batman prepares Gotham for his protege, Nightwing, to take over as it’s guardian. Meanwhile, Harvey Dent, with a clean bill of health from Arkham Asylum and a surgically restored face, grapples with his inner demons as the “Scalpel” killer consumes Gotham.
Lot’s of cussing! Why do they have to put so much cussing in this? Lot’s of F bombs folks, and some racy scenes in this episode too. Still no Nightwing, and no Harvey Dent either. It’s almost as if it’s something totally brand new. It could be another first episode even. The acting is good, the storyline is intriguing, and I want to see more, but what about Nightwing?! I almost feel like I’m cheating you… almost. 😉

Oooh. Nightwing? This piques my interest, too. Saddening that he isn’t present yet. I’ll give it a shot anyway. Thanks for the heads up!
It really keeps he hanging for episode 3, but it’s also kind of dissapointing that Nightwing, who is the title character, is nowhere to be found!! I really want to see how all of this ties together though.
