What is kickstarter? Kickstarter is the largest funding platform for creative projects in the world.
Artists of all types can use the website to raise funds to make their creatives ambitions reality. Musicians, filmmakers and fine artists and all sorts of creative individuals can find their audience who may pledge to support projects which appeal to them. It is a great incentive and has been making considerable waves and stirring things up in the comics industry recently. Stashmycomics.com supports independent comics creators and we will seek out brilliant comics kickstarter projects and bring shine a spotlight on those we feel are particularly fascinating in hopes of helping creative and talented individuals reach teir goals and dreams. So come back every Monday to see what wondrous project is featured in the Kickstarter Spotlight of the Week.
Our first spotlight is aimed at Holli Hoxxx. Co-created by Austin Tinius, Holi Hoxx takes place in a dystopian future where gravity no longer exists and the only artificial gravity tech available to citizens is monopolized by Tycho Industries. When a company called Newton conjures a way to restore gravity. You can imagine the problems this will cause. At street level, a gang is terrorizing civilians. In the middle of all this is Holli. Once the face of Tycho, Holli now finds herself thirty years in the future braving an unfamiliar world. With the Neton company’s ceremony to restore gravity back to New York in less than 24 hours, and a paralyzing illness weighing her down, Holli must find her father and discover her destiny before time is up. I think that is a totally cool idea! I really like the incentives the creators give for the more you donate. Not only does the comic look cool, but the idea behind Kickstarter, I think, is very fantastic. I’ll be checking this site out more extensively.
