The first impression of the Mid-Ohio Comic con is one that promises fun and exciting geeky times are to come. The original Batmobile sits proudly behind ropes with twin booths behind it reserved for Adam West and Burt Ward. I began wandering down the first aisle and was a little dissapointed by the size of the booths. Upon entering my first one to try to reach a stand of action figures I quickly realized that these booths were not designed with my 6’3″ frame in mind. All in all I had an excellent time and made some great purchases.

Some of the highlights of the con were:

Eric Adams’s amazing self-published comic Lackluster World. I bought the first issue to give it a shot and after reading it over lunch I immediately rushed back to his booth to purchase the rest of the series. Talking to the creator of this amazing series he revealed that he is in the works of a new series but he can’t reveal the details just yet. If anyone is interested in this series I will be doing a much more in depth review later in the week or head over right now to www.LacklusterWorld.com and check it out.

-Billy Majestic’s Humpty Dumpty, a upcoming title from new publisher Revenger Comics. A dark and gritty tale of aliens and blood that promises to be an exciting new entry into the IDW library. Check it out at www.revenger.com

-A great web comic by Shawn Gustafson & Al Fukalek by the name of The Specialists. Facing a grave threat, America harnesses the power of the atom to create super soldiers to battle the Ubermenschen the nazi’s are using to take over most of Europe. A new page every monday at www.TheSpecialistsComic.com check it out for a great read.

-Brimstone and the Borderhounds is a gritty and dark action packed adventure with great characters and an engaging plot line. I will be doing a much deeper review of this series later in the week but I would suggest you all head over to www.theborderhounds.com to give it a look.

Those are just a few of the highlights. Check back here soon for more!
