Synopsis:  Booster happens upon a situation at Rip’s time lab involving Rip trying to return with an unknown assailant attempting to tag along.  Booster quickly uses the computer to separate the two and brings Rip back home without the uninvited guest.  Rip materializes barely conscious mumbling the name Magog, and holding a ripped portion of a future Superman’s costume.  Booster decides to do some research into who Magog is, and what he has to do with the dismal future Rip visited.

Review:  I should say first that I have not paid any attention to this series until I noticed Booster was involved in this issue along with Jurgens, regular writer of the Booster Gold ongoing.  This was a fun story with the same style and feel as the  regular Booster Gold series, but serves only as an introduction to the potential conflict Booster and Magog might have in the future.  If you are aware of the Kingdom Come series, I’m sure you know who and what Magog eventually has a roll in doing.  And, being a possible future event it seems fitting that Booster and Rip be used in some degree to prevent future catastrophe.  I looked on DC’s site and saw that this story does not continue on in the Brave and the Bold series, nor does it appear it has any part of Booster’s ongoing in the near future.  I was disappointed to discover this to be a stand alone story, but still enjoyable nonetheless.  Looks like we may have to wait awhile to see if this story bears any fruit!
