I knew little of the Ragman character. Honestly, I wanted it because of the Joe Kubert cover art. It was gritty and awesome with fantastic art over all and it has just the right amount of dated 70's style (Which I love!). I'm going to definitely pick up the rest of the short lived original series and might branch out to some later character stories too.

You should rate it! :) I didn't find it as facinating. The art was fun, but I honestly didn't like the character design to my taste. Plus, the character didn't make sense, at least first issue.
Still, I'm a sucker for 1st appearances so I'll be hanging on to it! :)

I'd give it a 8 in art and a 6 in story. 7 over all. Super hero origins are often, well.....nonsense. Just kind of goes along with trying to come up with ways to give normal people super powers which don't actually exist. I'm a sucker for 70's comics though, and I'm intrigued by the character.

To get more on topic, I forgot to mention the one other book I recently got.

Purchased a Comic Book Bargain Box from my local shop. I've gotten these before. It is a short storage box filled with comics. Most of them are recent, although you get the occasional 80's or 90's thrown it. I got just over 200 comics for $29.99. The oldest comic is What If? #6 from Dec. 1977.
