Sweet! If you decide to make your stash public, it will be interesting to see some of the issues you have.Mine goes back to the 50's with only a couple of oddballs from the 40's.

I finally made it through a few boxes. So far it has been Spider-Man.

How early does your Spider-man go?  issue #?

Wow!  Is it "Amazing Spider-Man" or just "Spider-Man?"

I was originally using Comic Rack software to organize but
was tired of having to buy the updates for new books every
few months so after about 30 minutes i ran across this from
a google search.

I think it took me 10 minutes to find this site. "Free Comic Organizer"or something like that. I had the intention of starting with the DC Reboot, but I saw some Teen Titans on Saturday at a convention and bought them, 38 from the convention and 13 today! 25 bucks total.

I was actually going to boil down to making my own little program to hold them all for me, because I couldn't find a free one. Then I found this site :D.

How did you find out about the DC relaunch?

It was so long ago I don't remember, I think I found out 3 months ago and I've been waiting ever since put it in my phone to remind me every month as it got closer, but I never forgot.

My Public Stash
My Public Wish List

A little while ago I discovered comicpriceguide.com. Pretty slick site. Had a lot of personal stuff going on but I was looking forward to establishing
my collection. Once I finally started last weekend, I hit the 50 comic cap. Crap. I was even willing to pay a year's fee of $50 if my collection would
remain intact. They said that there'd be a grace period, but I'd eventually be back to zero. Was also given a pretty snide response (in email) about
them having to make money. I understand, but wasn't prepared to spend $50/year for the rest of my life.

I then started to look at what other options were out there. Now that I think about it, I think I found this site via Google. I did try out Collectorz
and ComicBase and did not like it at all - I wouldn't even use them if they were free.

I'm a pretty critical person (with fiction, film, and programming), to be honest, and I think StashMyComics has room to grow, but as it stands I'm a big
fan of the site.

I like the organization. That is, the Stash page is nicely laid out. Very intuitive.

I was away from comics for 7 years. Had to cold turkey after spending way too much money a week on it. Not too long ago the thought occurred to me: I
can now afford those old X-Men (70's) I've always wanted. The DC relaunch caught my eye as well (heard about it on NPR - an interview with Jim Lee). I
like the idea of starting from scratch. In contrast, I tried Uncanny X-Force, concept is really up my alley, but I feel already felt lost in a world that
continued on without me. (X-Static also came across as Marvel cashing in on the popularity of Deadpool with a similar sort of monologuing - see,
critical.)

This got way too long!

There's always the wish list forum for suggestions. :)

Thanks for choosing SMC. Glad to have you here. We got a great group of fans here and a very nice community.

I found this site out frustration as well.

I had been keeping track of comics on comicspriceguide.com and one day, when I went to enter that 51st book, BAM! "We're sorry, if you want to add more than 50 books, you must upgrade." $50. $50? $50?!

It wasn't so much the amount that got me, what aggravated me is that they don't tell you anywhere up front that it's $50/year to keep track of more than 50 comics.

So I went to trusty ol' Google and typed "FREE comic book database". I actually typed "free" all in caps...lol, not that it mattered.

All-in-all, I do enjoy the site very much. I do have a suggestion, but I think Jason mentioned there was a separate forum for that, so I'll look for that.

I definitely enjoy being here and have passed on the link to a few guys I work with who are comic geeks. :)

Yeesh. That's not cool. I think they should be upfront about that.

Thing is, it had the opposite effect they were hoping for. They want a conversion and a subscription but it actually turned you away from them.

And yeah, for sure provide suggestions. Igor has implemented tons of suggestions so far. He doesn't apply each and every one but long-time users will vouch for his incredible openness to suggestion.

Welcome to the site, again.

Well being new here I came across this site because I was looking for a way to organize my comic books.  I wasn't looking for an online organizer, more like how to organize them in boxes or crates or whatever but this site came up and I decided to give it a shot.

My stuff is still in the works but I do hope to add my collection to it.

A fellow collector on another message board mentioned the
"stash" features on this site. I've been hooked ever since.
I don't post a whole lot since I don't really have anything
useful to say, usually
