My Public Wish List

Ok if you have read any of my previous post you will know
I am a newbie. Nearest comic book store for me is an hour
away so it sucks a bit. I am going saturday to comic book
store though while away visiting family. Then probably
around 18th I plan to visit LCS thats hour away to setup
pull list for what I deciede to go with.

Now this is where I need your input or suggestions. I
have decieded to give Green Arrow, GI Joe Real American
Hero, and Scarlet Spider a shot. I have gotten a few
scarlet spider already and enjoyed them so I just plan to
continue on with that series. Now I was thinking star
wars also but seems it is just a bunch of mini series and
not sure I want to get into that. I also would like to
get into something Batman can you offer a suggestion on
something for it? Then do you have any other suggestions
on comics to try out. I would like to keep it around 6 or
7 on a regular monthly basis and plan to visit local
store every 2 weeks once I setup a pull list.

I highly recommend Batman and Daredevil.  If you want to start from the beginning, it wouldn't be extremely difficult, as Batman is at issue 11 and Daredevil is at issue 14.  Trades are out for both containing at least the first 6 issues, and you could pick up the other issues pretty easily.  They have great stories (some of the best in comics right now, I think) and I think you'd really enjoy them.

X-O Manowar, Harbinger, or Bloodshot from Valiant would also be perfect to start reading.  Bloodshot is coming out, and the other two are only on 2nd issues.

I second Tim, the Valiant stuff is TOP NOTCH and like he said, all series just started.  I reviewed Bloodshot #1 (review posting on the blog tomorrow), and I was satisfied on every level with it.

I have been a recent convert to the DC title Deathstroke. I think it's on #10 or 11 currently. Addicted might be the better term...

And I've heard good things on the BOOM! title Extermination, which may still have #1 on the shelf, though it's sold out in both my local stores.

I think he was referring to Batman the regular ongoing series.  I'm sure that last few issues would be available at your LCS.

The title is just plain "Batman."  Greg Capullo is the artist currently.  Looks like issue #9 started a new arc.

Batman #11 I think is the best place to start. #10 revealed something big to the story, but might not mean that much to someone just picking up that issue.

That being said, jump in anywhere and just go for it. I came in at the end of DC's blackest night and had really no clue what was going on, but still loved it. I went back and read a bit about the event online and got quickly caught up.
