This week’s project offers a unique story telling experience through a mixture of prose with original paintings in a 120 page hardback graphic novel. Season’s End is a Gothic fantasy tale written by Jason Pell (creator of Zombie Highway) with art by Blake Wheeler. It takes place in Tenwars, a world where magic and adventure has become dark and dangerous. The book will follow six characters who seek to learn why the gods have turned their back on their world, and explore the question of who the “news gods” are. Listen to the project pitch for a book with visuals described as “unique and terrifying” with a “character driven” story.
After seeing the preview art in the video, it’s clear that Wheeler has given every ounce of effort to make this book a masterpiece. If you need more convincing check out his personal gallery here. With nearly two years of work behind them, the duo have to be chomping at the bit to get this book in the hands of their fans. But, as with any crowd funded project, making that become a reality rests solely on the people! Don’t let their hard work go to waste, help them bring Season’s End to life!
What’s the Money for? The majority ($8,000) is just for printing the book. Remaining funds will go toward shipping costs, t-shirts, and those dang taxes.
The Rewards: A little change ($15) will get you a PDF of the book along with a pretty sharp looking wallpaper for your computer. Up that pledge another $10, and you can get yourself a 120 page hardback copy for a cool $25! If you have a little extra dough to spend there are original pen & ink sketch cards, a t-shirt, sketches in the book, posters, and some of the amazing original painted artwork from the book. Original paintings come with all the previous awards and range from $150 to $500!
Sign Me Up! Stroll on over to the Season’s End Kickstarter page and choose your pledge award in the right column! As amazing as this book looks and sounds, it won’t happen without some major support from it’s backers. The project has until September 24, 2012 to reach it’s goal and is still very much in need of your help!
