From the Outrightgeekery Staff…

This week is filled with some super-hot new releases. Our staff of intrepid Geeks have been scouring the trades to make their recommendations for New Comic Wednesday just for you! Take a look at their Geek Picks for September 18th, 2019!

Jan: Archie 1955 #1 Geek Picks for September 18th, 2019!

I  said it last year when Archie Comics was wrapping up Archie 1941; they need to continue with a 1950s book, then a 60s and a 70s version. Well, somebody must have listened because we’ve got a rock-a-billy look at the music scene of the 50s! I still think Archie should get relevant and tackle race in the 1950s in this amazing looking series with a bunch of awesome covers. Maybe that’s coming! I just hope that controversial writer Mark Waid can pull it off!

Writer: Mark Waid, Brian Augustyn
Artist: Tom Grummett
BRAND NEW SERIES from the writing team that brought you ARCHIE: 1941! Can a rocking teenager from a small, sleepy town find fame and fortune through this new phenomenon called “rock and roll”? When Archie Andrews proves to a local DJ that he’s got the makings of a hip-shaking stardom, he begins an ascent to fame that will carry with it both triumph and tragedy.
