Kickstarter Spotlight: The Cabinet – Historical Horror Graphic Novel

kickstarter-logoWhat better way is there for a fan of comic books to celebrate Independence Day than supporting an independent comic book project? I have just the one for you to consider this week in the Cabinet, written by Christian Sager and with art by Kelly Williams! Elements of this book really do fit in with celebrating the history of our nation. It includes a plot to assassinate a U.S. president, and antagonists who oppose the American government. Fans of historical fiction and horror will undoubtedly find enjoyment in a story woven into the fabric of our nation’s history with an added touch of mania that will keep you on the edge of your seat! Take a look at the Kickstarter video for this project and consider celebrating Independence Day by supporting independent publishing!

The Rewards: If the fact that this book sounds kick you in the face awesome isn’t enough, there are some absolutely amazing rewards for your contribution. To start, a measly five dollars will get you four issues of Christian Sager’s previous comics including Border Crossings and Think of the Children in PDF form to enjoy while you wait for the Cabinet to come into fruition. If you contribute more, not only will you get those issues, but you will also have an opportunity to nab one of several limited edition prints (by Eric Orchard and Dave Wachter to name a few), and a PDF, softcover, or hardcover copy of the Cabinet!

The Why: The majority of the funds from this Kickstarter will go toward paying Kelly Williams for his art contributions and the printing costs for copies of the book and art prints. If you think their goal is a little steep, well, then understand that it takes Williams several months to complete. A small price to pay for a buttload of work don’t you think?

The How: To contribute to this fabulous project all you will need to do is visit the Cabinet Kickstarter page and choose your pledge level.  Just take a gander at the pledges on the right column of the page and click the one you want! After that you will be treated to updates on the project through the site. To keep an even closer eye on your investment, follow Kelly Williams (@TreeBeerd) and Christian Sager (@christiansager) on Twitter!

Thank you everyone for giving the Cabinet a look! Now go shoot some fireworks and have a Happy Independence Day!

This looks really cool. As a big fan of history and alternate history, I definitely think I’ll give this my support.
