I LOVE pissing competitions:

# of Comics Stashed Newsstand Value You Paid Current Value Change
2674 $5,579.22 USD $3,633.01 USD $10,161.61 USD 179.70%

My low comic count and high dollar value reflects the fact I collect 70s and 80s stuff... and I still haven't put any of my comics in from Marvel Comics, N to Z (which includes a bucket load of New Mutants and Power Man stuff.)

I still have about 8 comics boxes that are packed to put in (I slackened off!!) so that total will go up by about 1000 in the next few weeks.

I don't use 'conventional' comic boxes cause I refuse to pay 15 bucks for a cardboard box... I actually use Reflex paper boxes... They hold about 150 to 200 comics per box (I think).

Wow, it's funny to see how much LCS charge. I only pay 7bucksfor along box and 4.50 for a small one. Damn.

We don't have a local producer of them in Australia, as far as I know, so we have import duty and shipping attached to ours!!

According to Overstreet pricing, I believe the Current Value amount to inflated. For example My Avengers #2 probably grades at a GD in which SMC has a value of $129.50 while the 2010 Overstreet Price Guide value a GD at $75.00. My #4 is probably a VG:
 SMC value $487.50; OPG $262.00

I think you can adjust the value and the database will register the new value you have input.

Igor?

you can enter the NM price the rest of the grades are
calculated by a formula. and yes you can go to the issue
page, and click on the current price and update it.

I need to still put in 5 or 6 long boxes, but also need to adjust the grade on a good amount of my books. So while one number will go up, another will go down  and the bought price isn't right, I bought a collection several years ago that had a chunk of my current collection.

Yeah, mines a tiny thing at the moment, but I JUST got out of an ice cold swimming pool. No, REALLY!

My collection?
Yeah, figuratively speaking, it wouldn't be hired for a career in porn either, but please keep in mind that I've only been back in the hobby for just a year now. So, I'm not doing too bad considering that & the fact that I'm working with a somewhat limited budget.
Now, if we went back about 31 years & we looked at the collection that I had at 18, we'd have somewhere between 3000-3500 more comics to figure in. Including full & near full runs of ASM, THE AVENGERS, FANTASTIC FOUR, DAREDEVIL, THE X-MEN & quite a few others. All of which I'd put together since I'd begun to seriously collect at 10. With a big helping hand from my parents, of course.
Unfortunately, as I lamented in this forum elsewhere, I sold off that wonderful collection for pennies on the dollar in a moment of TERRIBLE stupidity.
So, I went three decades before beginning to collect again last June.
And, I'm having more fun & experiencing more satisfaction with each comic & collecting  supply that I purchase than I ever recall having as a kid.

At my LCS i pay $9 for a long, $5 for a magazine, and $4.50 for a small (At least that
is what i think it is[I have not bought one in months][going to buy one soon though, i
have about 400 comics and no more space for them])...I buy small ones,[no space for long
boxes at my house] And one time they gave me a magazine box it is just wider so i put
them in a row and also sideways (i dont lay them down flat,it can ruin the bottom one)

Also at the dollar store i have been given empty cardboard boxes that hold coloring
books, etc it can display the first comic so i put it on top of my boxes...it may not be
acid free though...
Also bags cost 7 dollars, boards cost $10 (is that normal or too much ?)
