Episode 7 was cool!

Gary's Mom doesn't want him to work with Dr. Rosen while the team is seeking out Skylar (played by Summer Glau). Skylar has the alpha ability of inventing things quickly. She can make weapons and devices out of any sort of electrical appliance. The DOD suspects she is feeding sensitive data to enemy countries so they locate her and hope to detain her.  But she escapes using an improvised light and sound pulse emitter.

While Skylar's on the run, Gary tracks her down with his ability to see electronic signals. He runs away from home and takes a taxi in pursuit of Skylar.

Meanwhile Skylar makes it to a DOD facility and destroys a computer she built previously (while in custody) which tracks an individual's bio electric field. But she takes the processor core with her.

It turns out Skylar was in contact with an another alpha the whole time. But she wasn't speaking with her in code, it's just that the Alpha's knowledge of mathematics was so advanced as to be indecipherable.

Rosen's team corners Skylar and makes a deal with her. They let her free in exchange for the processor core. The implication is that with the core, all Alphas can be found easily. But Rosen destroys the core. This marks a departure for the team who up until now were following orders. But Rosen deems those orders to be unethical.

Let's hope we learn more about Binghamton and what is going on at that facility.

It's a good show but I find the characters are not consistently portrayed. Nina is a headstrong, stubborn person one episode and the next she acts selflessly because "it felt right". And sometimes plots aren't the most air tight. Little things like that are kind of off. I hope the writers figure those things out.

I didn't start out loving this episode, but I thought it
came together nicely by the end. I feel like the show has
established a groove, so to speak... for better or worse.
Personally, I think something significant needs to happen
to shake things up (more Red Flag would do the trick for
me). I think I would quickly get bored if it falls into a
simple routine and doesn't break from it.

But there's still plenty of time for that to happen. The
show's enjoyable as it is; I'd just like it to do more...
whatever that looks like.

So far good. Started with red flag as an explanation to why the team
exists and what they do. Now they are focusing a bit on each of their
backstories and personal lives. its first season so it will be slower in
parts, but good stuff overall.

This is great show. I haven't finished watching this season
its recorded so I'm waiting for a chance to finish it.

I was wondering where Ryan Cartwright went after he got
killed off of bones. I'm glad they got him for the part he
is a great actor.

Season 2 just started and it's basically the x-men without costumes.

A psychologist, Dr. Rosen, is put in charge of a team of people with Alpha abilities. Their goal: to track down other Alphas to help them or hand them over to Binghamton, a prison hospital. A plot unfolds
that is very similar to X-Men lore. Alphas are in hiding, government covers it up, some "Villains" think Alphas are the next evolutionary iteration and so on.

The plot is nothing unique, it's the delivery that is compelling. All the powers are based roughly in reality. Exaggerated Amplifications of what already exist. The characters are all distinct and I find myself
rooting for this guy and that girl and so on.

First season is about the team figuring themselves out and each episode is pretty much a one-shot. The season ends with a pretty big twist twist and season 2 picks up on that.

It's the little TV show that could.

You think it's worth jumping into if you haven't seen it? I might try to get it on DVD for cheap...maybe I'll try an episode online first...

Really like the show. Watched it all last season, and the first couple episodes have been great. Gary is my favorite character. He says some of
the funniest stuff of anyone on the show. But I think they need to get back to the event that happened in episode 1 of this season. They haven't
really delved back into it to much yet. (don't want to spoil anything for those who haven't watched this season yet."

I think with what Nina did at the end of ep 2 of season 2, we'll get a revisit to ep 1 of season 1. My favorite is Bill followed closely by Nina and Rosen.

Reviving old thread I know.

Loved this show watched every episode when they aired. Have DVDs of both seasons. Was upset when it was announced the
show was cancelled of course after season 2 had already wrapped up shooting. Also a huge fan of the show Warehouse 13 at
least WH13 had early notice of cancellation and was able to cobble together a sort of completion to the series. Not pleased with
some of the things the did but I wont get into details here to avoid spoilers. Even though both shows have been finished for a
few years now.

I think the statute of limitations on spoilers has passed on this one. Speak your mind and just put a spoiler tag ahead. :)
