Hey Jason right now she is into hunger games like most... but she has more than a few book series on the go right now... so that is good...

She love Artemis and Raven out of the two DC series she likes... Kid Flash she also likes Robin and Spoiler and Batgirl so if you know any good series that would be great as far comic books go...

She really likes the art so the better that is I think the more she will like it....

My Public Stash

Since i'm new to the site/forums and came across this
post thought I would follow through :)

So how did you start collecting? As a kid my dad would
buy me a comic book every so often just for fun. When I
hit 6th grade I came across some of those when cleaning
my room and started reading them again. So when I would
be out at the store with my parents I would look at the
magazine racks and began picking up a couple here and
there. At the time the Spider-man series was doing the
whole Ben Reilly clone story with Tom Lyle as artist.
That kinda got me hooked on actually following the
stories. Soon after, my mom surprised me on my b-day by
taking me to the local comic shop and let me pick out
several comics as a b-day gift. While browsing the shop
I learned I could set up a subscription...and the rest,
as they say, is pretty much history.

How many comics are in collection approximately?   At
last count I was about 2200 or so.

What do you like to collect?   Mostly collecting Uncanny
X-men and X-men vol. 2. But I have quite a few Spider-
man issues and other random ones I've picked up over the
years.

Which title/character is most found in your collection?
title would have to be Uncanny X-men. I'm currently
attempting to get the full run, or at least close to it
as possible.

New to the site and forums and thought I would share.

So how did you start collecting? I have an older brother, and he always collected, and being the typical younger brother, I wanted to do everything he did so I started getting comics and fell in love with them.

How many comics are in your collection? I haven't ever really counted them, but it's got to be at least a thousand.

What do you like to collect? My current goal is to get all the X-Men comics, but as far as ongoings go, it has to be Walking Dead, Invincible and Chew. I like the Image comics.

What title/character is found most in your collection? I definitely have a lot of X-Men comics, the most would probably have to be Uncanny. I have tons of others too.

What do you like to collect?

Which title/character is most found in your collection?
I mainly have Spawn in my collection, been a fan since the beginning.

So how did you start collecting?
I was 10 years old when I accompanied my mother to the village pharmacy one day. Near the prescription counter was a tall spinning rack of comic books. The Punisher #56 for some reason stood out to me. Quesada's cover of the Punisher escaping a prison, running at the viewer's direction, interested me enough to ask my mother to buy that comic for me. That was the beginning for me to the world of comic books.

How many comics are in collection approximately?
Previously, 3000+. Now at 1000+ in a whole new collection. Had to start over after being in a financial jam and having to sell my original collection.

What do you like to collect?
Batman, Silver Age Marvel books, anything with a deep emotional story and/or one that will make you think about the conflict. (ie, Identity Crisis, Civil War), and sometimes a good horror series. (Freaks of the Heartland!)

Which title/character is most found in your collection?
Batman, X-men (mostly Uncanny), Daredevil (silver age, mendis/maleev).

@Stlyidklr: Welcome to SMC!  I'm currently reading Spawn right now, and am at issue 48.  I'm debating on continuing after issue 50.  It's just getting a little long winded for me.  How is the series after the 50th issue?

@audino79  Welcome, also, to SMC!  What was in your original collection, and have you been able to get some of that back?

Don't forget, both of you, to check out the blog for some coolness when you're not stashing books!

Well, started collection in the late 80's, so aside from every #1 that came out when you blinked in the early 90's, the gimmick covers and Image putting the words "blood" "death" etc in every title, I had mostly X-Men. I had very very little DC. Couldn't stand anything besides Batman. I was a big key issue collector as well. Had lots of key ASMs, UXM (claremont, namely), and the here and there keys, like Ms Marvel 18, Secret Wars 8, Nyx 3 (I wish I still had that one).

I rebought some of the books I had. I loved a few of the Crossgen titles like Sojourn and Scion. My Sojourn run is once again complete and Scion is almost there. I was smart enough to save some of my absolute favorite reads thinking I may regret getting rid of *everything* so there isn't too much I have to re-purchase that I miss!

@Vladimer:  It's been so long since I read 50.  I don't know if it would be a good stopping point or not.  100 would probably be a good one or 185.  I took a hiatus from collecting for about 10 years so I'm missing some issues, 130-184.  I don't really know what happens there, just bits and pieces.

Hi, I'm new here. Call me Ron (it is a girl's name.  A lot of times I get mistaken for a guy because of the name).

How did you start collecting?

I collected here and there when I was little but by college I really got into it because an english teacher recommended a comic book shop to me in the place I lived.  Haven't looked back ever since.

How many comics are in your collection approximately?

192 comics and 14 graphic novels

What do you like to collect?

I am a big Superman fan.  Recently actor Chad Michael Murray came out with his first graphic novel so I have it and plan to collect anything else he writes.

Which title/character is most found in your collection?

You can mostly find Superman in my collection with Green Arrow coming in second.  I'm more of a DC girl so I do have some Batman, Legion, JLA, and Flash but those aren't as big as my Superman collection.

Thanks.  And yeah I've been reading Action Comics & Superman of the New 52.  I am a huge fan of them.  Sometimes I go back and forth between favorites but I think I like AC a bit more because it's got a cool kind of edge to it.

Welcome to the site!  We've been working hard at updating the Manga in our database, but there still may be titles we are missing.  Feel free to submit anything you can't find, so that we can get it in the database for you!

  Hey guys I'm new to the sight but have been collecting for a very long time.  Started as a kid when my mom bought me and my brother a comic at the grocery store to shut us up, way back in the eighties.   Been a fan ever since.  Have thousands in my collectionand it only keeps growing!  I have mostly X-men but read a number of other things fairly regularly.  My favorite is an original psylocke I had drawn by J. Scott Campbell at a local  comic store.  Also got a couple of Spider-man issues signed! I ndon't get to go to conventions so this one is really cool to me, especially afterr getting tpo talk to him for a bit.         &n bsp;         &n bsp;         &n bsp;         &n bsp;

So how did you start
collecting?    My younger
brother and I read comics all the time in the 60's-70's.
One summer our mom threw our collection away as a
punishment for something we'd done (can't remember what,
I'm still in shock I think).

In the early 90's I tried to
start collecting again, but I was soon turned off by most
of the work being put out by MARVEL. I also didn't like
the way the market was being flooded with million+ print
runs on countless crossovers. It beame boring for me. I
walked away again, but luckily not before buying an X-MEN
#50 from Milehigh comics for  $35. I CGC'd it last year
and it came back a 9.6 OW/W.

A few years ago the collecting
bug bit me again, but this time I'm more focused on what
I collect.

How many comics are in your collection approximately?      2,645
stashed- another 400 +/- $1 books waiting for me to get
bored enough to bother going through them.

What do you like to collect? My friend was one of the
most well known inkers for DC, MARVEL and DELL/GOLDKEY in
the 70's and I'm currently collecting at least 1 copy
of everything he's ever penciled or inked, having
him sign each one. I also collect Golden Age, Silver Age,
Bronze Age superheroes.

Which title/character is most found in your collection? Spider-man

Hello everyone.  This looks to be a great group to connect with ppl who share same interests.  Love reading the posts.  Just had a question and was hoping someone could help me out.  I am new to SMC, however, my collection consists of 99% trade and was wondering if there was a way that I could catalogue the trades?  Thanks for your help!

Yup, our database has lots of TPBs and if they are not there you can
submit them and get points for doing so. The points let you buy tickets
in our giveaways.

Trades can sometimes be tricky to list depending on the content. If
they are directly collecting issues from one title then they are often
listed under that title. If they include multiple titles in the trade then it
is most likely listed under it's own title.

So how did you start collecting?

Around 94/95, I earned a gift voucher for a shop that had a collection of comics stored away in a dusty corner. With nothing else of interest, at least in the vouchers price range, I picked up a handful various titles.

This one immediately stood out to me as it threw out my preconceived superhero stereotypes. After finding a few more Punishers in a different store, a collection was started. Eventually I bought all the issues available in local stores and it was too expensive to travel to different cities to see what they had - not everyone had internet back then and those that did enjoyed the joys of dial up connections.

Fast forward to now and I've decided it's time to fill in the missing story arc pieces and take advantage of broadband.

How many comics are in collection approximately?

170 from back in the day, currently 30 or so more on order.

What do you like to collect?

Mostly Punishers with the odd Daredevil & Spiderman popping up.

Which title/character is most found in your collection?

I'll give you one guess

Have you tried the recent Punisher stuff?

Garth Ennis has a reputation for being one of the best Punisher writers.

Not yet, currently concentrating on filling out the 87-95 era stuff. Dead Mans Hand, Suicide Run and a couple of others were storylines I own a couple of the books so filling in the blanks there was my first choice to purchase, though I have read that Garth's stuff was pretty good.

Hey folks,

I thought I'd fill this out before I start posting in the other areas, so here goes!

So how did you start collecting?

A friend introduced me to Legion of the Superheroes and American
Flagg back in the early 90's.  I took a break from comics for about
8 years (mainly due to lack of money and a bad experience with a
person who was getting my comics for me.).  Now I am back.
I re-started with some of the New 52 from DC.

How many comics are in collection approximately?
2652 and growing.

What do you like to collect?
I generally tend to get drawn to comics with great art and at least a good story these days.

Which title/character is most found in your collection?
Legion of the superheroes (although I am not collecting the new series of LOSH)

Welcome aboard grc001!  If you're looking for a good story with some great art, you should try X from Dark Horse Comics.  The series only went for 25 issues, but well worth it for story alone!
