My Public Stash
My Public Wish List

I have some older german comics to stash and they have the old german currency DM (Deutsche Mark). I submitted one of them with the DM currency as newsstand price but the current price as EURO. I think the system can't deal with it. The exchange from DM in EURO is about the half, and so the system "thinks" the issue is worth the half of its newsstand price (I hope I described it understandable). So is the only way, to submit the older comics newsstand price, to translate the DM currency in EURO?

AFAIR (I'm Polish) the exchange rate was 2:1 when Euro was introduced in Germany. So I think that's what I would do.

On the other hand, I think the value of such a reprint is next-to-none, so I wouldn't bother with calculating the right price. I have some Lobo issues printed for South African market that were dirt-cheap and I'm probably stuck with them, 'cause noone will buy 'em from me, and the only difference is publisher logo and price.

SMC calculates the current price and I didn't knew if it can handle the DM currency, which is why I calculated the EURO Price (which I elsewise don't do)...the current price or current value for an issue is always a little disputable...
but I have to say that german first printings absolutely have their value on the market..if you get the price an issue is rated is another question...

If it matters the same thing happens with old Brazilian comics. The currency they used from the 60s to the 80s has been replaced. I use the modern currency for valuation (price paid and current value)so I think it only affects reports that list change from cover price (the cover price is wrong in that it uses the current currency, not the currency that was released)which is what the OP did as well, I believe.

im in the process of building out historical exchange rates. once its done the older issues will convert to USD at a much
more accurate rate. this will be applied to all prices: Newsstand, Current and Paid.

the newsstand price has been updated to use historical exchange rates, so when looking at the value reports and stash
stats that value in USD will be more accurate.

im now working on upgrading the current price. right now current price shares the currency type with the newsstand price,
which is whats causing issues with conversions especially when it comes to obsolete currencies. im working on making an
update which will allow the current price be of a different currency from the newsstand price and it will be required to be
using an active currency. once that's in place this will get resolved. ill post back once its in place.

i did this a few months back, but looks like i forgot to post back. the current price currency type is now unique and can be
different from the newsstand price currency. it is also limited to only currently active currencies. if there are issues where
the current currency type needs to be changes please submit an issue update request and put that in the notes. ill make
that option available on the issue page as soon as i can.

I'm having problems with my UK edtions of Marvel and DC. The price is correct when looking at the comics individual page, but the totals are incorrect on the Comics Values page. It's playing havoc with my X-Men comics. Please Help.

Been Doing Some Research Into 'Pence Price Variants' ie. British Marvel/DC Comics From 70's/80's. Seems That They Were Printed At Same Time As The American Cent Versions (So They Are Not Reprints) And That They Only Made Up 2-5% Of The Run (So They Are Rarer Than The US Books). Also, With Them Being Printed In America, They Are Not A Foreign Comic. I Live In The UK, And I Often Watched Hot Books Go For A Low Price Because Of The UK Variant Isn't Collected Seriously. Use This To Your Advantage, Someday America Will Notice.

Is There Somebody New Processing The 'Submit New Issue' Option. My New British Marvels Have The Wrong Cover Prices On Them. When I Sent In That The Cover Price Was 12p (ie. twelve pence), The Site Set It At 12 POUNDS! Help! I Live In Scotland, So Any 70's And 80's Marvels/DCs Will Be In Pence.
