I think everyone who buys comics gets the free Civil War: Opening Shot Sketchbook, but if you're like me, you're not going to want to write in it, so I scanned the last page with the checklist on it and have it available here for download.

Looks like along with all the normal Marvel Universe series, there will be four Civil War specific Mini-Series (civil war, front line, x-men, young avengers/runaways), and two new ongoings (heroes for hire, war journal). Yikes. Check your wallets, everyone...

what you think?

I like!  That way I can stash individual cross over issues in their respective series instead of in a stash with the series title!

That checklist is sweet, thanks.  For those of you unsure if a book has Civil War info in it, Marvel decided to RUIN all their books by putting a one inch thick banner on the top jof the front cover, just in case you were not sure it contained a sentence about the

CIVIL WAR

 Funny and true!

Now for the sad part:

76 issues X $3 a piece = $228+tax

I know! WTF is with that banner? It was fine with the House of M banner on the side, didn't take away from the art more than usual.. but that thing is horrible.

i agree with alan, the house of m banner was great, it was simple and to the point and they were even able to reuse it for decimation, by just making it look messed up.  but this civil war banner is nuts, the only reason i can see something like this being done is if the event is going to be huge and by huge i mean bigger then house of m or any other event, and by the time its done stuff will really change...otherwise its just goofy.

i think marvel maybe thought if they stick it on all the issues that are part of the event it might entice someone to buy all of them, where as if nothing is clearly said which issue is which they might not buy some of the issues that are part of the event thus not spending the full $228 (price as per nate)

yo nate...+tax...you pay tax on your comics?  ive never paid taxes when i bought comics...sounds like your being taken if you pay that.

Igor,

Do you think the checklists could be linkable from the comic pages? Now that we have the new "crossover" line, that would be cool.

I'll start putting a list together of some older crossovers like Maximum Security, Inferno, etc.

If someone can work on DC, that would be cool, cause I have no idea about those.

you mean on the individual issue pages link the crossover/tie-in line to the story checklist?  ye thats duable

also the checklist that i am putting together (working on it as i am writing this), will work in two ways.  one you will be able to run a checklist against the titles you own and see which issues you are missing, and two you will be able to run the checklist against the storyline which will tell you which Titles and Issues you are missing, and which ones you own of course.

i hope to have it released in the next few hours..at least version 1 and then start adding and upgrading from there.

oh ye....the events for marvel...if you go to http://www.marvel.com/universe/Category:Events
it will tell you what core issues and tie in issues are part of the event. i started going through these as well.

not sure if dc has anything similar, havent had a chance to check...but you can also try searching google for "StoryTitle Checklist", might find some, but cant guarantee that they will be complete, but its better than nothing.
