Do I need an adaptation of the movie? Chaykin's art is generally rough, but looks much better when inked by Leialoha where sometimes there will be a moment of good likeness. I can say the same for Infantino's art that often doesn't feel too inspired. After Yavin, Han ends up one of the Magnificent Seven in a story that has some mildly interesting side characters and feels like a Hanna Barbera creation in terms of creature designs, which continues into the next storyline where Luke & droids crash on Waterworld and fights both dragons & pirates. A cyborg shows up to go after Luke in a one-off (he'll be back). Then an Imperial plot to frame the rebels pits Han against Chewie in combat on a floating casino station. Finally, an interesting arc.

Jabba the Hut spelled with only one 1- and he’s a seal??? Borgs running rampant and they aren’t trying to assimilate anyone? Luke and Vader met up at a monastery? It could only happen in the comics. This is a very campy, kitschy, and fun book to read. I love getting to “catch up” with old friends and not in those very generic, cookie cutter novellas published in the last 15 years. Lots of fun and worth consuming.
