Remembering his time in the service (and as a sniper hitman), Marc realizes he was most definitely not a soldier, so why Captain America is in his apartmtharent is beyond him. As his halucination of Bushman urges him to kill Cap, Steve explains that he is not there to recruit him afterall, but to warn him to stay out of the War. He's crazy and can't afford to get mixed up in it.
That night Marc sets out to visit the most recent crime scene of this unknown killer who has been breaking clocks and pulling limbs off people. A detective he worked with named Flint meets him there and tells him it can't be the Midnight Man (who also hated clocks) because they exhumed his body and it was still there, dead. Marc still doesn't believe him though, and decides to get to the bottom of it. He then goes out on patrol to "hurt some people" as he puts it. Across the city, the murderer is striking again, trying to get Marc's attention.
The next day, Frenchie's partner drops by to take him to the gym, because he is still quite out of shape and putting his body under too much stress that it can't handle.
I loved the line where Marc says, "I don't know, you're the detective" - distancing himself from his DC counterpart of Batman. Otherwise, the issue kind of sucked. Aside from investigating further the murders, it was basically a Civil War tie-in that was a few weeks too late. Captain America was already dead by the time this issue came out.
