The bestselling saga that redefined one of the Marvel Universe's most unique characters! Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon deliver a wild ride of innovative chaos, reinstating the Punisher as an unstoppable force dispensing his vigilante justice on the streets of New York City. But not everyone is happy to see him return: Two unlucky cops draw the unenviable task of capturing him, while the ruthless Ma Gnucci and her gang will stop at nothing to see him dead. The Punisher also must contend with nosy neighbors and the rise of three copycats - the Holy, Elite and Mr. Payback - who want him to join their crime-cleansing force.

Welcome Back, Frank
It's the series that got the Punisher back on his feet and spawned a couple of movies. If you're a Frank Castle fan, a Garth Ennis fan, a Steve Dillon fan or a Jimmy Palmiotti fan, you should read this series. Issue 1 finds Frank returning from a presumably long absence to start wreaking havoc on New York's underworld once again. One step ahead of the enemy at all times Frank is a force to be reckoned with. The book was the basis for which the script of the 2004 film was built and one of the reasons that Marvel started their MAX line which lead to telling Punisher stories the right way. Of all the writers to have tackled Frank, Ennis is head and shoulders above the rest. No sidekicks, no gimmicks, just pure, righteous, vigilante brutality.
