How to begin... the art or the writing? The art, has to be the art. The Liefeld cover promises some of the dynamic quality of Liefeld's off-the-wall pencils but instead we get Bob Hall, whose work looks like it should have been forgotten in previous decades and maybe that's how he got this job--people forgot what his art looks like. Facial expressions are whack. Angles, poses, and figures are weird and not in a fun way. Sure, Cable is in the issue, but it's a flashback where the surprise is indeed ruined by the cover, but also who cares? The best part of the issue is the Broccoli alien referencing the Dark Phoenix Saga the Skrulls have in bondage in their faux funhouse, while making some fun of that character design. Otherwise, forgettable.
