The first issue of one of the best New 52 titles. A story that flows smoothly, with decent action but also a sense of self-awareness.
A great first issue that begins to redefine one of DC Comic's least beloved hero. Aquaman has the makings of somehow being cool thanks to the great writing of Geoff Johns and beatiful art of Ivan Reis. This issue openly discusses prior absurd powers of Aquaman and remakes them into something that isn't lame. "I don't talk to fish. Fish don't talk their brains are too primitive to carry on a conversation. I reach into their midbrains and telepathically push them to help me out." Awesome!
I like that Aquaman is interacting with the humans but where is he to go and who will rule over Atlantis.
