A brilliant comic book, and an awesome conclusion to an awesome story arc. It's not spoiling anything by now to admit that the terrifying new villain making her debut in the first five issues of "Batwoman" is the ghostly Weeping Woman, a specter that is almost out of some old folk tale ( think of Irving's Headless Horseman in "Legend of Sleepy Hollow" ). It's very unique. Batman has faced many maniacal supervillains, but it's not every story where the villain is a full-blown legendary ghost. This is likely the start of a motif for Batwoman. She's going to be the member of the Bat Family that faces supernatural and horror genre antagonists. I approve wholeheartedly.

This series and especially this issue has the most consistently good art I have seen anywhere. This issue is the best of the series for sure, but the story has been difficult to fully get into. Excited to see what direction the DEO takes Batwoman.

Batwoman has her final confrontation with the Weeping Woman, and the battle is absolutely gorgeous, and incredibly detailed. I loved the changing face of the Weeping Woman, which shifted from panel to panel. From there it's on to a confrontation of another sort, as Kate gets a visit from Mr. Bones and Cameron Chase. What follows is an offer that Kate can't refuse. And one that might just put her on a collision course with the Batman.
