I can't express how happy I am that Kevin Eastman and IDW have launch a new Turtles title or how happy I am that it seems to have grown up with me. I have been a Turtles fan for as long as I can remember and the unfortunately I have outgrown the cartoon version of them. Fortunately this new series is both nostalgic and more mature meaning that everything that we as Turtles fans know and love is still present but the way the stories are presented and told are more age appropriate for us. This volume presents a new(ish) or rather slightly altered version of the Turtles origin and how the distant past and near future are very similar if not completely different. New enemies emerge as old ones stalk the shadows in this essential read for fans.
