Layout gimmickry abounds as a drugged Batman fights to stay alive and stay sane in a maze constructed by the Court of Owls. The odd layouts manage to accomplish their purpose thanks to the excellent artwork by Capullo and Glapion. I like the use of story as a theme and the concept of the Batman's story as something that he needs to cling to and fight for, something that can be taken away from him.
I am so excited to see what happens to batman next.

Very interesting issue! I love how deep the story is getting, and the suprise at the end?! Also very much enjoyed how you had to turn the issue as you read. Going around in circles, just like Batman is doing! Greg Capullo and Scott Snyder are amazing on this series, and they make one helluva team. Can't wait for issue 6!
Some very inventive tinkering with the layout in this issue adds a whole new level to the storytelling. Kudos to the creators for using every tool at their disposal to tell their tale.
