If you can get past all of the multiple-worlds nonsense, this book was a lot of fun. The interplay between the two characters generally wins out over continuity confusion, even through multiple flashback scenes. Helena and Karen have a really good vibe between them, and their loyalty to each other and determination to make the best of being stranded in a strange world come shining through nicely.
Entertaining..however lacked that pizzazz of a new issue. Story hinges on our attachment to two characters from Earth 2, a world we know little about. If this title is just meant to cash in on the more relevant/interesting world of Earth 2 it will be a dud. As the story develops around the duo getting back to Earth 2 it is conceivable it could become relevant. In the end this story is going to have to be relevant to one of the worlds not the life of a Earth 2 character on the main Earth.
Hopeful, but too early to tell. The story starts in Earth # 2 which also suffers from first "issue-itis", in that where we're going can't be explained in just one issue. Still, other New 52s managed an exciting first issue and still let us glimpse the road ahead. It's a very hopeful beginning. You're either finally satisfied with PG's boob hole closing or you're not. I don't mind it, but I miss the fun and beautiful, expressive drawing of Amanda Conner.
I likethe previous costume on PG better But pretty good beginning.
I'm not a fan of the new take on Power Girl's character, but I admit that I'm comparing her against the old PG. That's my fault and not this book's. The art and writing are solid, so I'll try to put my reservations aside and enjoy this for what it is, not what I wish it was.
This is basically the continuation of Earth 2 #1. I didn't find anything overtly snazzy about this besides that it features two characters that are big fan favorites. I'm sure these issues will be a big draw for that reason, but nothing else sets this apart for me. I will say that Powergirl's outfit is an improvement.
