The art was great, the writing was good, and it was safe. The story is set up for the remaining 5 issues for those unfamilar with Watchmen, but the 2 page snippet on each of the heroes was replaying something we already had known from the back story "Under the Hood". The most interesting part to me was the flashbacks to Mothman and Silhouette as they had very little development in Watchmen. Darwyn played it safe by tying every character into something already known, it just didn't explore enough
