Ratings and Reviews

New Valiant LogoBefore I begin my review I want to make it known that I am a complete Valiant noob. I have never read anything from them nor did I really know of their existence before this re-launch. Basically, the only thing I knew about the series was the synopsis that I had read. However, this is exactly why I wanted to review this title. It has been 20 years since Harbinger was first released and that is a whole lot of readers in the same boat as I am. Continue Reading »

I really liked this as a first issue. They did a good job of putting in a lot of mystery, action, and story to make for a solid foundation on issue #1. While I generally liked the art the faces when further away did not do it for me. Up close the characters look their age and have a more nomral appearance. When pulled back the characters lost their identity and appeared older and just different. Overall good art just needs some refining to fit the series...IMO, could be my personal taste.

I was a Valiant reader back in the early 90's and was excited to see the company make another go at it. I have read the 1st issue of Harbinger, and I feel they are putting together a nice story so far. The way they are going about it with a "runaway" being sought by many different people / agencies is pulling in my interest. It is worth a buy, understand that with any new comic, they need to tell a story, so, it sometimes takes a while to get it all out there. X-O Manowar is the same way.

I didn't know what to expect from this comic, I had heard of Harbinger back in the 90's but never looked at it. I picked it up the other day and was plesently surprised. The story is interesting, the artwork isn't great but adequate. One thing I thought was cool was to have all the thoughts of all the people on the street covering the page as Peter was walking along, just imagine how mind numbing it would be to hear everything. No wonder he has no expression on his face. Can't wait for issue #2.

What an amazing story! This new vision of Harbinger is what it should have been in the 90's! The artwork was less than I was expecting, and didn't really pull me in, but the story is worth it all. Very very impressed. Very very excellent. Can't wait for issue 2!

Even though the interior art didn't blow me away, the story was top of the line. There really is a TON packed into this issue, and should be plenty to give anyone an idea of what this is all about. A few issues touched on include power and responsibility and mental health. I'd give this a 10 based on story, and art a 8. I felt like a lot of the facial pencils made everyone looked stressed out most of the time. Otherwise, looked great!
