Wanted to hate this, but I don't. Aside from the odd MODOK stuff at the start it was good. The vision/scarlet witch interaction was a gut wrencher...good scene. Don't know much background about Hope, but didn't seem to matter. I'll read more.
Split into two stories the second of which, Hope Summers' story does a great job of building anticipation while setting the scene and introducing key themes for the following series. The first story however doesn't. Although a great individually, it seems out of place and does little to build any anticipation or set anything up for upcoming comics. The writing and art in both stories is stellar. But a first half that feels like a forced way to give the avengers their introduction lets it down.
Awesome seeing Ms. Marvel, Spider-woman and Scarlet Witch.
A good introduction to some of the key players of the series. It helps set up the personality of Hope Summers which I imagine will be key to this whole series.
