I'll admit that I haven't been following 'Scarlet Spider' for all that long, at least only since issue 12. But I was able to jump in, and quickly found 'Scarlet' one of my favorite monthlies. And yet, with the last arc ended, and the focus in #17 back on the Assassin Guild, and Kaine off to *spoilers* kill Wolverine, the whole feel of the book has changed. Yost has done a great job writing, but the new artistic team of Barberi and Wong has changed the visual feel of the book to a more mainstream (i.e. simplified, less detail, less general showmanship) look. I'm sure Wolvie isn't gone for good--that'd really screw over the whole X-Men books...--and I'm looking forward to seeing how things work out for Kaine, but this issue was a let down.
