Another title I initially thought was a joke. I was working for an independent bookstore at the time and remember saying the market was saturated with zombie material. Man was I DEAD wrong! At least about this I was. By the way, this series has nothing to do with Life with Archie (2010-2014) series that ended with Archie getting shot and killed. This is a completely separate brainchild of the creators, Aguirre-Sacasa and Francavilla. Absolutely amazing stuff. The character development is convincing and the art does justice to the genre. It's Archie AND it's horror. It turns out Sabrina, the Teenage Witch is part of this universe. I like what one of her aunts says, "...sometimes dead is better." Chilling.
Fracavilla's art and storytelling are just amazing, and Aguirre-Sacasa has crafted an entertaining tale. This is the first Archie book I have purchased in years and years and years. I cam to the party for Francavilla, but am staying because it is a joy to read this series.
