Kirk's art is still excellent, but the ending was mostly unsatisfying as it simply was a lead in to the next event story (Cataclysm) and ended up not standing up on its own. The immediate threat of Galactus to Hala is wrapped up but not an end to the actual Hunger-or the presence of Galactus in the Ultimate universe that was set up in this mini, so it was an end point but not really an ending, making it ultimately unsatisfying (no pun intended). If it had been marketed as Cataclysm: Prologue: The Hunger, then at least I would have known what I was getting in for, and probably would have skipped it, but I expect a mini series should be a complete story in and of itself when I am not told otherwise, so it is a problem of expectation I guess.
