I don't know if the Superman portrayed in this issue will work. He's definitely less than the "Big Blue Boy Scout" that he had been for decades before the New 52, but that in itself isn't a bad thing. This issue adds something else, an arrogance that doesn't even seem to make sense in the continuity of the issue. SPOILERS, LOOK AWAY IF YOU NEED TO. Superman just gives up helping people from the incoming hurricane at the end of the issue and takes shelter. I'm pretty sure even the New 52 Superman would go out and help some more. Plus, Kuder's artwork here is kind of infantile.
