Wow. This is Bendis at his worst. While I haven't followed much in DC since Bruce Wayne's return from Final Crisis death, I should be able to pick up a random issue and enjoy characters I've known for decades, even if it's a new take. What we have, though, is some hackneyed villain who talks like an angsty teen wrote him, incredibly powerful yet still gets beat down from the League. The one cool idea is presented by Ollie, in that the team needs to take on new blood to make sure they are true to their mission and that people's perceptions of them matter. If they are not human enough, they are scary. Superman revealing his ID has made him less alien and godlike and now he's perceived as more like the average Terran. Otherwise, crap issue!
