Jae Lee's art is exciting, tearing through the page at you, but does it tell the story well? Is the story even good anyhow? I love Nicieza's X-Men, but this storyline has been difficult because of the Mojoverse speech & some mildly unclear early pages. Ultimately, the story is about Bishop & his difficult place amongst the X-Men, having newly arrived from the future, & ultimately his x-treme actions continue to set him apart from fellow Gold Team members. Archangel's backup probably would have had way more impact on me had I read this 25 years ago and/or had I read his pre-transformation X-Factor issues. "Roots of the Past" storyline has Trimpe trying to be a '90s comics artist & the story is again Bishop reconciling legend vs reality.
