The Marvels series gets a ton of play. As it should. But most people don't know about a companion series published a year later. Terminally ill photojournalist Phil Sheldon travels abroad in a world where Marvels aren't celebrated or realized as a force of good. This is technically not a sequel but similar to a What If? story. [See Marvels: Eye of the Camera for the next chapter of Marvels.] The art here was not done by Alex Ross and I believe it was planned that way to visually stage a chaotic setting. I personally liked the unrefined paintings. Anything for a change of pace. A wonderful two-part 90's mini.
