One of my all-time favorite arcs and the inspiration for my favorite of the X-Men films. It's no secret that Claremont is a genius writer, and Anderson's sketchy, emphatic style gives the story a free-flowing feel. This was one of my first forays into Magneto's character.

It’s been 31 years since it was first published and “God Loves, Man Kills” is still a timeless classic. The inspiration for X2: X-Men United, this Marvel graphic novel follows the X-Men as they are the target of an anti-mutant hate group led by charismatic preacher, William Stryker. Added to the excitement is the alliance between the X-Men and Magento when Prof. X is kidnapped and brainwashed into a psychic killing machine against the mutant race. A brilliant mix of unbeleivable action and not-too-preachy dialogue. It hits home in terms of speaking against hate and bigotry than any old PSA made on the big three networks. The art is gritty and colored in a magnificient palette of water colors and makers.
