So in the Viral Marketing for the third installment of Nolan’s Batman Trilogy a website address was leaked. www.operationearlybird.com showed nothing but a countdown timer until a few minutes ago. When the timer expired the site became momentarily unusable no doubt due to the large spike of incoming traffic. But when it finally spit out info a map could be observed with location markers pointing at different IMAX theaters across North-America and Europe with the option of buying tickets at these locations. I assume this means that these theaters are already selling tickets to Dark Knight Rises. The early bird gets the worm you see? If you take a look at the map you can see an input field where I’ m assuming you can enter in some longitudes and latitudes. I tried entering my town’s coordinates with no effect. It’s a flash in the pan unfortunately. I had hoped this might be the first bit of a trailer that would be leaked on the internet. But I’m sure some genius will figure out if you input some weird password somewhere it’ll turn into a blueprint of the Batcave or something cool like that. One thing to note is that the title of the site could possibly a subtle hint at a villain in the movie that has so far been kept secret. A penguin is a bird after all…

Anyway, go take a look at the site and have fun!

UPDATE: The tickets being sold are for a 10pm showing of Ghost Protocol, in front of which will play the Dark Knight Rises Prologue.
