In this episode of Teen Wolf, Scott and Derek’s packs work together to try and trap the kanima (aka Jackson). Meanwhile the Argent’s are working to kill it.
We learn a few new things in this episode. All of the kanima’s victims (except Isaac’s dad) were 24 years old and in the same chemistry class at Beacon Hill. Their teacher? None other than Mr. Harris. All signs are pointing towards him being the kanima’s master, but Teen Wolf likes to trick it’s viewers so we’ll see.
There were a few moments in this episode that bare discussing. First off, Derek let’s Scott take the lead. This shows some character development on his part and shows that he may not be as good an alpha as he thought. I’m not saying Scott is a better alpha, because honestly he’s not intelligent enough, but I think Derek can gain a bit more compassion from Scott which will help him be less trigger-happy alpha.
There was a lot of Stiles and his dad interacting in this episode which I adore. But, we get another heartbreaking family moment from this too (the previous heartbreaking moment I’m referring to is in episode 1×10). We briefly see them work together on a case which is too precious. But, the happiness is all too brief. Later in the episode, Sheriff Stilinski loses his job. Yep. His first name is no longer Sheriff. Turns out the restraining order filed against Stiles was the last straw and had to fire Papa Stilinski. Let’s just add more crap for Stiles to deal with. As if his mother being dead, his best friend being a werewolf, and being put in near death situations on a near daily basis isn’t enough of a terrible life for him. Let’s have him essentially be the reason his father gets loses his job so he’ll have a heaps of guilt to deal with too. I hope things get better for him. He deserves so much better.
Allison has started to ride the fence. She betrayed Team Wolf by giving her parents information about the kanima and telling them about the rave where that could find Jackson. I’m not sure how I feel about this. I can understand where she’s coming from. People are dying and Team Wolf has no real plan. There’s no cure and they can’t restrain Jackson. But, her parents want to kill the kanima which is Jackson and I don’t want them to kill Jackson. Her character development is definitely something to watch.
A few questions for future episodes: Is something supernatural happening to Stiles? We saw him perform some sort of magic with that dust. What’s going to happen to Mrs. Argent? We saw him get bit by Derek. Who is the kanima’s master? According to the preview, we’ll find out the answer to the last one in the next episode.
