Action Lab LogoAction Lab Entertainment, known for giving us comic book gems like Order of Dagonet, Space-Time Condominium, and the Glyph award winner and Eisner nominated series Princeless, has launched it’s newest initiative to bring their mature line of books through the imprint Action Lab: Danger Zone. In grand fashion, the launch is coordinated with a Kickstarter project to help propel the franchise in to readers hands directly. Have a look at the press release for the details:

Action Lab Entertainment Launches Danger Zone imprint on Kickstarter

On March 26, comic book publisher Action Lab Entertainment launched a Kickstarter campaign to help advance its recently-announced Danger Zone imprint, which incorporates a wide variety of titles aimed at more mature readers.

The Kickstarter campaign’s primary focus is on six of the first creator-owned titles to be released under the Danger Zone banner.  Three of them–The Final Plague, Ghost Town, and Night of the 80s Undead–are bimonthly series, while the remaining three–The Trip, Zombie Tramp, and Double Jumpers–are either trade paperbacks or original graphic novels.

Donors to the Kickstarter can receive a number of unique items only available there, including exclusive covers, a fold in poster, original artwork, and even the opportunity to hang out with the Action Lab crew at San Diego Comic Con 2013.

“Action Lab has been at the cutting edge of quality all-ages material since its inception, with Princeless, GlobWorld, and the coming-soon Molly Danger already under our belts,” said Action Lab President Kevin Freeman.  “With the launch of the Danger Zone, we can spread our wings even further and bring readers the wide variety of books they want to see.  This campaign will help us achieve that goal.”

“This Kickstarter will enhance the launch of the Danger Zone line and better enable us to get these incredible creator-owned books in front of a wider audience, which can only be a benefit to all,” adds Danger Zone president Jason Martin.  “It means more eyes on these unique mature-readers titles, and more chance at success for their creators!  Plus many unique opportunities to celebrate these crazy cool concepts!  I’m excited just talking about it!”

With the emphasis on fun no-limits content, Danger Zone titles offered range from comedy, to horror, to science fiction, to whatever creators can dream up!  Danger Zone is the place where anything goes, both for readers and creators. As with any independent publisher, Action Lab is tirelessly working to get this exciting material in front of as many eyes as possible.  The company believes the Kickstarter campaign can contribute to that goal.
