Artist and writer Lee Milewski (Tangled Weeds) returns to Kickstarter to give his latest project a kick in the butt. The Somber Crown is the lovechild of Milewski’s fondness for old-school adventure gaming and classic fantasy, starring an elf hero on a quest for vengeance in a world full of crazy monsters, a “wise” old owl that gives outdated information and a dark kingdom that betrays him. The first full issue is oversized at 40+ pages and features vibrant colored panels. If the preview art is any indication, Somber Crown is going to be mighty pretty to look at. With a small goal of $2000, Somber Crown has the potential of reaching some nifty stretch goals. First of which would add an additional 12+ pages of story, rounding it up to 52 pages! The cheapest way to get the story in front of you would be to chip in at either $10 for the digital copy, $20 for an additional 50 pages of the “making of” version, or $25 for all of that plus a printed copy. Higher tiers offer prints, original art and pages from the book.
