kickstarter-logoFans of crowd funding are clamoring at the opportunity to return to the old west with Dave Wachter and James Andrew Clark’s co-created Guns of Shadow Valley Kickstarter project. After launching on June 14th, the project reached it’s goal within the first three days and remains open until July 15th for backers to jump on board.

This supernatural western series started in July 2009 as a webcomic, with help from Thomas Mauer on lettering, and has been on a major hiatus since 2011. Due to the demand for Wachter’s considerable talents as an artist, time and resources have made it impossible for him to finish what was started without financial backing. With the fast and furious pledging early on in the campaign, completion of the book is now a sure thing! Now, it’s all about the STRETCH GOALS!

I’ll spotlight a few of the standout pledge levels after the project video below, and include all the juicy tidbits about the stretch goals. For those who’d like to see firsthand what this is all about, you can read the first 100+ pages at gunsofshadowvalley.com for FREE!

What’s the Money for? Printing the roughly 250 page book in hardcover, shipping, and to pay Wachter to finish the remaining 100 pages of art. Dave is taking a significant cut from his usual per page rate, and is dedicating his time to work ONLY on Guns of Shadow Valley.

The Goodies: You’ll really want to consider backing at the $30 level for several reasons. 1. It’s the first level that gets you a physical copy. 2. Custom designed bookplate, signed and numbered by both co-creators with a sketch on it by Wachter. 3. This level will give you access to each of the unlocked stretch goals! Along with the above reward, you can pledge $50 to get Kickstarter exclusive movie poster art print. If you don’t have the cash, you can always check out the lower rewards for PDF copies, or go higher if you happen to be swimming in some extra change. You better hurry though… there’s only a few original art levels left!

Stretch Goals! Like I eluded to above, there are some sweet stretch goals lined up if you back at the $30 level. When the project reaches $28,000, you’ll get one of six wanted poster designed stickers (4×6 in.) randomly chosen and included with your book, designed by Dave Wachter himself! At $30,000 a Guns of Shadow Valley themed bookmark is unlocked! At $35,000 an 8×12 in. signed art print of the cover painting can be yours!

Sign Me Up! You’re still here? Click the link to the Guns of Shadow Valley Kickstarter page and make your pledge! You have an exclusive opportunity to assist one of the industries best and brightest talents complete a masterpiece. Don’t let the chance slip through your fingers!  Remember to pledge by July 15, 2013! This is one i’m looking at getting in on…I’m just not sure if I like the physical layout of the book.
But it’s on my watch list for sure…

I backed it! While the layout is different, I look forward to having something different. If it doesn’t fit on the bookshelf, the coffee table might be a nice place to show it off! 🙂
