Marvel Comics – July 2009 – $2.99 – 32pgs – Color

Writer: Daniel Way – Art: Paco Medina – Cover: Jason Pearson

Synopsis:  Fresh from his success against the Thunderbolts, Deadpool continues his harassment of Norman Osborn (man, Norm’s in EVERYTHING these days!) to get the money he deserves for intel used during Secret Invasion.  As I’m sure you’ve gathered from the cover, Bullseye (dressed as Hawkeye) is sent to do Norman’s dirty work.  There are some great moments in this book (that I won’t spoil) that make this drawn out plot a very entertaining read!

Review:  As I said above this is now the 10th issue, and we are still seeing Deadpool harassing Osborn for money owed for services during SI.  I’m not saying this to complain, but to applaud the clever writing skills and humor that Way has.  This book is always a nice break from the serious tone of most mainstream books, and never ceases to deliver a good chuckle for me every issue.  Artwork goes well with the tone of the book, and the covers have improved since the odd “dark” covers from the earlier issues in this series.

Story: 9 – Writing: 9.5 – Art: 8.5 – Cover: 8

Overall: 8.8

Sidenote:  Yeah! 50th review on the new Review format!  Look in the forums for reviews on other past titles, and shoot a pm nisav’s way if anyone else is interested in doing these!  Could use some help on the DC side of things…
